The organisation’s business area – GIZ International Services – is the vehicle for offering GIZ’s services to international clients.
GIZ International Services is a shortlisted tenderer for the EU funded project “Investment Support Facility (ISF) for EU-Nepal Trade and Investment Programme”.
The Trade and Investment Programme (TIP) follows the direction of the European Consensus on Development – “People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership” – and addresses more specifically “Prosperity” (inclusive and sustainable growth & jobs), “Planet” (Protecting the environment, managing natural resources and tackling climate change) and “People” (human development/dignity). The Overall objective of the TIP is to contribute to Nepal’s sustainable and inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction.
The purposes of this project are as follows:
to increase trade and participation in regional and global value-chains;
to improve the investment climate for attracting Foreign Direct Investment;
to improve the trade and investment coordination strategy elaborated and agreed between country partners and development partners.
Qualifications and skills:
Master degree in Trade, Investment, Economics, Management, international Development, or other relevant subject or equivalent experience of 12 years.
Proven experience and expertise in Investment and FDI related issues.
Previous experience of EU Preferential Trade Agreements (including EBA, GSP, GSP+) and EUs External Investment Plans (blending, guarantees and investment climate) will be an asset.
Excellent Nepali and English expression both orally and in writing.
General professional experience:
At least 10 years of experience in managing programmes and/or advising as a consultant in the area of trade and investment.
Specific professional experience:
At least 10 years of experience in trade and investment, preferably in the context of a least developed country/developing countries and capacity building at national level processes. A longer experience and trade/investment related experience is an asset.
Experience of interacting with the Nepalese public administration, in particular Ministries related to FDI facilitation and trade would be an asset.
Experience of similar projects or set-up would be an asset.
Experience in green finance / green economy would be an asset.
Experience in trade and investment projects promoting gender equality and social inclusion would be an asset.
